Manlleu is a city in the Osona region. It has a population of more than 20,000 inhabitants and an area of 17.2 km². The creation of the Manlleu Industrial Canal between 1841 and 1848 led to the beginning of the industrialization process in Osona. Industrial activity, which occupies about 60% of the workforce, has shaped the personality of the population for more than 150 years.
